About the Role
The Technical Team Lead will combine hands-on development with leadership responsibilities, setting technical standards, driving secure solutions, and bridging communication between North America and Europe. Initial focus is on payments and financial technology using C#/.NET on AWS.
Key Responsibilities
• Define architecture, coding standards, and ensure compliance with PCI DSS
• Lead technical decision-making with focus on security, reliability, and compliance
• Contribute directly to payment systems, APIs, and real-time transaction monitoring
• Mentor and guide developers on fintech best practices
• Manage agile ceremonies, task distribution, and reporting
• Act as primary liaison with Toronto leadership and stakeholders
• Support hiring through technical interviews and onboarding
Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications
• 5–7 years of development experience in financial or payments systems
• 2–3 years in senior/lead roles
• Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core, AWS (Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, security)
• Deep understanding of PCI DSS, encryption, and secure coding
• Experience with real-time, high-availability systems and APIs
• Excellent English communication skills; proven cross-border collaboration
• Strong leadership and mentoring ability
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with US/Canadian companies or fintechs
• Knowledge of PSD2, GDPR, and international standards
• Familiarity with React/Angular/Vue.js
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Startup/scale-up experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
